The Oppo Find 5 was announced back in mid December. The original announcement highlighted a 16GB model and an expected availability of sometime in early 2013. Otherwise, while the release details were kept to a minimum — we did know that the Oppo Find 5 was heading towards China as well as the US and Europe.
All that being said, it looks like the first phase of the global release has been detailed. The Oppo Find 5 will be available in China at the end of the month. More specifically, the handset will be available for purchase on January 29. Those anxious to make a purchase will be able to move forward with pre-orders beginning today, January 15.
Otherwise, nothing specific has been released yet in terms of the US and European availability, however now that the global release has begun — we expect those details to come available sooner rather than later. Those in China have the 16GB mode available with a 2,998 yuan price point. As of yet the 32GB model has not been released. And while the 2,998 yaun price would be about $485 in terms of US dollars — we are expecting the Find 5 to drop at $499 (16GB) and $569 (32GB).
Needless to say, we are not expecting the Find 5 to be available with any carrier discounts when it arrives here in the US. Regardless though, the Find 5 will bring goodies to include HSPA+ connectivity along with a 5-inch 1080P display, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, 2500 mAh battery, 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera, 13 megapixel rear-facing camera and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
